Replace by Interchange not working while file is locked

Just wanted to share this, couldn’t find anything about it anywhere else, maybe helps another with similar problem.
I am also wondering if this is intended functionality?

We run Creo 12.4.3.0 together with windchill 13.1.3.2 and we have just begun using interchange assemblies.
I just found out that if a interchange component member is locked in your workspace, you are unable to replace it by interchange. The option is simply grayed out without explanation. The other “Replace by” commands works.

By pure chance I unlocked it and tried again and was amazed that it worked. 

I have also confirmed this case is also true on Creo 13.4.0.0
