Question
Replace "Filename" in the whole UI by a configurable string that can include one or more parameters (User-defined + Internal)
Current situation
- The Filename is shown in the UI
- Common Name (PTC_COMMON_NAME) is planned since 2004 to have more applicability in the UI: ".. For Wildfire 3.0 (or beyond), it is planned that the "Common Name" will have more applicability in the Pro/ENGINEER User Interface." (see https://support.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/solution.jsp?n=124152)
Idea
Replace "Filename" in the whole UI by a configurable string that can includes one or more parameters (User-defined + Internal).
UI elements that should be configurable (uncomplete list):
- Model tree (the first - currently non configurable column)
- Layer tree
- All "Pick From List" dialogs
- Title bar
- Message log
- ...
It would be good to have the configuration of all possible UI occurences of "Filename" in one place. Config.pro options defining the strings should start with the same name, e.g.:
UI_object_identificator_ + <name of the UI Element>.
