Right Click part in Assembly tree - menu missing the regenerate command in Creo 3.0

Hi there

wondering if anyone knows how to regenerate a single part in an assembly without having to regenerate the whole assembly.

In Creo 2.0 I use to be able to right click a part on the assembly tree and regenerate that part via the popup menu, however in Creo 3.0, the right click menu is missing the option to regenerate. Attached is a screen shot of the popup window on creo 2 and 3.

Is there a way I can get the "regeneration" option back in creo 3.0?

Hi Lisa & Steve,

If you have a PTC account, you can get further information via the following article:

CS195374 - "Regenerate" does not exist in context menu of a component in assembly in Creo Parametric 3.0

If you don't have an account, you can create one here.

The gist of the article is:

  • Using RMB > Regenerate after selecting a particular part/component, did not regenerate the component selected
    • Regeneration would take place on the entire assembly
  • Since this was not in the spirit of the context command, it has been removed in Creo 3.0

Thanks,

Amit
