Scale Model Not Working as Advertised

Hello,

I am attempting to scale an item I received from an outside source but whenever I try to use the Scale Model function, the assembly/part does not go under any changes. Is this because the item should have definitions within it, such as sketches to transform? The item I received had no internal sketches or dimensions, so I wonder if that is the cause? For reference I am looking to save the nominal item to a proportionally smaller size and I am on Creo 8.0.11.0

The scale model function will not work with imported data. You have not disclosed the format of the data but if the geometry is not made with Creo Parametric  geometry creation features then scale model is not going to work as expected.

Darn. Yeah, it was not made in Creo Parametric. Thank you boss.

Do you have access to Creo mold design extension? In that module there is a more advanced feature for dealing with shrink.

You may be able to use a unit conversion to scale the import data, I have not attempted this but it may be possible if you create a custom unit and use that on the part model with the import feature.
