Hi, I have to import a CAD file from ALTIUM software.

The CAD file is an electronic board exported by the software ALTIUM in a 25 MB .step (or 20 MB .x_t).

ALTIUM can export the files format in the picture below.

When I import this two types of files, they opens in a long time.

How can I reduce the time of uploading of that types of CAD models?

A couple of options:

The board files can have many geometric entities and components in them, this is why it takes a long time to import. Use the filtering in Altium to not include irrelevant items in the export. Try excluding all via holes in the PCB as a start.

Use the IDF interface rather than Parasolid option. This supports exporting the PCB and components in separate files. You will need to manage the ECAD and MCAD environment for this option to work correctly but it is much more streamlined than STEP or Parasolid.

Thanks tbraxton, sorry for my very little experience on this type of files sharing, but how can I manage .brd and .pro files exported from the IDF interface with ECAD and MCAD?

Furthermore, where can I find the ECAD and MCAD environments?

Can you show or describe me the principal passages to open the files .brd or .pro with a creo parametric license?

Thanks a lot,
