Sheet metal flattened form for Blank measurement

Creo Parametric does fine for press break bends. But once you get to something that have more than the simple bend allowance calculations (material stretch across from the bending process) , it is not going to give you what you want. 

You can use a "flatten quilt" command if the material is "thin" and you make your part as just one surface, this will usually give you a "shape", but if there is a lot of deformation, this will likely not be accurate dimensionally.

I don't have any experience with how other software calculates this.

Simple Bend Allowance Calculation:

Typically most CAD packages can calculate the flat pattern for sheet metal bent parts, like those formed on a press brake. To get the flat pattern of a part that is die formed, the flat may not vary much as that process usually stretches and thins the material to get the shape.
