Simplified representation default setting for part files

I have recently set open_simplified_rep_by_default yes to allow selection of representation when opening assemblies. It seems odd that there is no similar config option to enable this functionality for parts. It's not great that they always open in Master rep

Has anyone come across a fix for this? Alternatively, how do I submit an enhancement request?

Hey, the reason for having open_simplified_rep_by_default in assemblies is to avoid undesired retrieve of huge assembly instead of its simprep. This consideration is not relevant for parts. In addition, assembly can be modeled in simrep environment, while part - nearly can not (at least this is not recommended). So both reasons that exist for assembly are not there for parts. Hope this clarifies,

It seems this parameter can't function as target if we have some modification to the assembly, is it normal?
