Question

Swept blend flat pattern C channel

Hi everyone,

Long time viewer, first time poster.

I am trying to make a chassis consisting of a swept C channel. It is consisting of a c channel changing in height but also is at an angle with reference to the original section.

While looking simple, it has me quite flustured on the correct way to perform this. Got it half way there with the swept blend feature. But I am unable to rip the walls and create a flat pattern.

How would you guys go about this? Keeping the model also simple to adjust. I am using CREO  4.0

Can you provide a model for us to inspect?

My favorite method is to model a solid without rounds and convert it to sheetmetal by shell then use conversion to create rips and bends.

Working with your model, I would suggest removing the bends on sharp edges from the sweep and use conversion to create the bends and rips.
