Can I describe a transition curve with clothoid curve in an equation in Pro? Input is speed, side acceleration, radius, curve length. Leif

It's quite possible that you can. I haven't worked with transition curves before, but from what I understand you may be able to do this. I'm interested in your list of 4 variables. If you know the length of the clothoid and the curvature of the arc into which it transitions, isn't that all you need to know? New field to me, so I may be wrong.

Here is a link that shows some formulas fore the curve. The speed and side acceleration describe the flatness off the curve. //Leif http://docs.autodesk.com/CIVIL/2010/ENU/AutoCAD%20Civil%202010%20User%20Documentation/index.html?url=WSfacf1429558a55de6812d1041fa83470-7288.htm,topicNumber=d0e117613
