Question
WF2->4 Mass upgrade strategy
I'm trying to figure out several things for our coming upgrade from WF2 to
WF4
1) what do I give the users as "this is new" documentation. I have a link to
the menu mapper and the quick ref guide
2) how to install pro/e WF4 and intralink 3.4 on all computers. I'll have
around a hundred client computers to upgrade.
Initially I was thinking of installing each computer manually using a
networked zip file of the CD's. However I soon realized that what makes it
tick is really the .bat and .psf files in the bin folder. So I'm thinking
that all I got to do is copy the install folder into a pre determined
location and then copy specially tailored .bat and.psf files. (from an
actual install or done in a text editor). basically I would take a master
list of all computers to the IT admin and he would run it to install Pro/e
and Intralink on all computers.
how does that sound? is there an easier way to auto install? what about the
training docs? I had no training at all and I picked up on the changes
withing a few minutes. Other users may not be as interested on re-learning.
What materials should I provide them with?
