What is the difference between Piping and Cabling? I want to perform wire harnessing tasks. Which would be more suitable? (I hope "wire harnessing" is not too generic)

Go to Creo Piping and Cabling Extension (PCX) | PTC for a summary document on Piping and Cabling - they are combined in the Creo PCX extension

Go to Creo Harness Manufacturing Extension (HMX) | PTC for a summary document on the Creo HMX electronic harness extension

That should get you the information you are looking for

Thank you. Can you refer a manual that i can take a look at for cabling?

Shreyas,

Cabling is for working with wires, spools, electrical data, etc.

Piping is for working with pipes, linestocks, etc.

But also, take a look at the links that Mike suggested, above.

Thanks,

Amit

You can get additional information from the following:

  • Classes on PTCU
    • You will need to sign up and pay for those
  • Detailed information in the Help Center
    • Expand the Electrical Design and Piping
  • Tutorial videos on the Learning Exchange

Thanks,

Amit
