Question

Where is the PDF of Creo 10 config.pro options?

As usual, PTC makes it as difficult as possible to find them.  Nice, way to go.  A simple search should find it, especially in the "Support" (LOL, as IF) section.

 

Anyone know where to find that PDF?

Edit:  I FINALLY found it.  Total PITA to find.

I usually go to the Creosite page to get a list of all the options:

I like this page because it lists all the hidden options, some of which I use. I have a mode file I wrote for the text editor I use (Emacs) that color codes config.pro text when I edit it so I can tell what's a hidden versus a normal option, etc. Helps me avoid misspelling the often ridiculously long parameter names.

 

I used to have an Excel file that listed all the options and had (sometimes) helpful descriptions of the options. Don't recall where I got that. I think it sorted all of them with respect to the area of operation they affected, like "Mechanism", "Manufacturing", and the like. Wish I could remember where I got that thing...or is that what you found?

    Found the CSV file source with a bit of selective googling. I must have gotten one of these before and done a lot of reformatting once I imported it into Excel It doesn't have the hidden options, as far as I can tell. I searched for one of the hiddens I have set and didn't find it in the CSV, which means I don't have a source for explanations of the hidden options. You've just gotta know what that parameter does, I guess. Or check in the annals of history for a file from when the option wasn't hidden.

      Ok, now THAT is actually useful, I'd never seen that before.  It appears to work, thanks!  I can't believe I've never seen that before and nobody I know knew about it.

      What I would love is a source for pre-configured config.pro files that have typical standards and options for particular industries or part type work. There are so many options that are irrelevant (in some use cases) and some that are critical to efficiency. It would be great if someone (PTC) curated a library of these config files that one could use. And a brief explanation of how it differs from default. Would be a huge boost to productivity and would really save time. I've used creo for years and it seems there is always some config option I just discover that would have saved hundreds of hours over the years.
