Question

Finite friction not supported for small displacement?

I'm trying to use a finite friction contact interface, but I'm getting the warning

"The analysis is invalid because finite contact interface is not supported for small displacement analysis."

This implies I should be using large displacement analysis... but that's greyed out so I can't select it.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

From that, I'm doing two things wrong: I have an advanced spring (which I can get rid of), and fasteners (which are directly related to the finite friction I want to evaluate).

So currently it can't evaluate slippage of a bolt flange, at least not using fastener elements to create the preload?

I'm not sure finite friction is working properly yet.

Does someone have an update?

A non-exhaustive list of things disallowed when using large deflection

Beams, advanced springs, ground springs, fancy shells, weighted links ...
