Question

Gap needed between parts in Simulation Live to not be treated as bonded parts

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 7.0 (connected) 7.0 7.0.2.0

When using Simulation Live for a structural analysis of an assembly what spacing is required between the parts so that they are not considered bonded together. It appears that I need more than 0.1" before they are treated as not bonded together. Is this accurate? Can it be changed? I work with parts in the size of a handful of inches and this gap can make significant changes to the design in order to get the parts to behave as not bonded together.
Thanks,
Chuck

Hi,

please ask PTC Support.

Dear Mr. Hanak,

the gap behavior can be influenced with Study > Performance Options > Simulation Quality.

I think there is no further setting nor a fixed value to define gap behavior.

For more control you should use other Simulation tools as Creo Simulate.

If this answers your question, please accept it as a solution.
