Question

simulating the separation of bodies

Hi community

I am interested in simulating the separation of bodies. In effect, I am tearing one body from the other.

The two bodies have different materials, and bonded contact between the bodies.

I create the separation using displacement constraint. In this situation, the elements continue to be connected between the bodies and do not "disconnect" during the separation process.

What am I doing wrong?

Does anyone have a recommendation on how to simulate this?

Thanks in advance.

Hello @YY110032788

Are you able to upload the analysis for the community to review?
You have used the phrase "bonded contact" but these two words imply two different behaviors for the interface between two components in a Creo Simulate analysis, explained in detail in CS58457, but simply put, bonded connects the touching surfaces and contact has the freedom to remain separate.

Maybe the answer to this is simply that you are using a bonded interface where a contact interface is more appropriate.
