Anyone had any luck with integrating Arbortext APE with TomEE?

We have been trying to see if we could integrate PE with our existing TomEE install that’s already running SSL - It seems to be configured correctly, all the properties listed in the e3 admin page (aside from tomcat.version which is set to our standalone Tomcat we were using for PE).  The PE configuration dialog still lists the old Tomcat, but startup is attached to the TomEE services and everything appears to start up correctly, but I cannot get the Arbortext Editor clients to connect with the TomEE PE server URL.

Anyone had any luck getting the integration to work without dedicating a standalone Tomcat that installs to the default install tree?
