Arbortext 8.1.2.1 port/protocol for validating licenses on VPN with Citrix

Hello,

We installed Arbortext Editor/Styler/Print Composer in a VPN that uses Citrix. Our IT/Helpdesk tech wants to know the port/protocol used to validate floating licenses. Does anyone here have that information and can provide it please?

  1. Set appropriate value of System environment variable PTC_D_LICENSE_FILE
    • For floating license value needs to be 7788@server
    • For locked license license value needs to be <License file path>\license file name

Hello and thank you for your reply. The helpdesk people want the actual port number/protocol that is used to connect to validate floating licenses. For instance when Google searching there are results like below but dont' know if the results are correct.

TCP (Transmission Control Protocol):
This is a reliable, connection-oriented protocol that provides a stable connection for data transfer between the Arbortext Editor and the license server.
Default Port:
The default port is 27000, and it's often where license managers like FlexNet (used by Arbortext) will listen for connections.

For Arbortext Editor's floating licenses, the license server uses TCP port 5053 by default for checking out licenses, and port 5053 with UDP for communication. The port number can be changed in the license file, for example, by adding a "PORT=" entry to the VENDOR line in the Flex license file

Hello! 🙂 Is there a better area to ask this question? Would have opened a ticket but the sales contract number I was given has "silver" support and that only comes with a developer forum but the link is to a thingworx forum, not Arbortext.
