Arbortext Editor is very slow - not responding

Arbortext Editor 6.0 whether connected or disconnected to Windchill 10.1 is very slow to open an xml file. We get the "not responding" message and the cursor just keeps spinning (approx. 30 seconds). Eventually the xml file appears and everything seems to work fine.

What could cause this issue? Could the server need a reboot? Could it have something to do with the cache size?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

The following seemed to improve the performance of Abortext Editor, although not completely.

    renamed the arbortext.wcf file in

    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\PTC\Arbortext\Editor

    to have the ext .old.

Closed AE and reopened so that the .wcf would be recreated.

We were having a lag time of about 30 seconds when trying to access the "modify attributes" . This is was much quicker now. The loading of an xml file did not improve, it is still slow.

In our experience this is normally due to the customisations in use with Arbortext. Are you guys using customisations?

You can test if that is the problem by either temporarily removing the "custom" folder (if your customisations are there) or by temporarily clearing the APTCUSTOM environment variable (if your customisations are pointed to from there).
