Software: Arbortext Editor 5.4 M080

Hello

I'm receiving the error as defined in the subject field a couple of times each month. Has anyone had the same issue and if so, how did you resolve it?

I am currently unable to upgrade to newer version, so hopefully it's possible to resolve without having to do so.

Thank you, VladimirN.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to this article as I don't have an active maintenance subscription.

What activity you're performing in Arbortext Editor causing this error to be thrown?

Hello!

Usually the error is thrown when creating a PDF of the document.

Dear Customer,

Based on the error message you have shared, you can try the below to see if that resolves your issues.

Issue description is one of the below:

  • Arbortext Editor (AE) running on Microsoft WINDOWS machine, exits with an error message:

              "[A31641] unexpected error within timer."

  • AE exits unexpectedly with generatiing an "editor.dmp" file
  • How to figure out where the cause is when AE exits with creating an "editor.dmp" file?

Proposed Resolution:

  • The "editor.dmp" file generating by Arbortext Editor when exiting unexpectdly is not editable.
  • To be able to edit the file, Microsoft WinDbg must be installed accordingly the architecture machine
  • After launching the WinDbg, the "editor.dmp" can be open with >File >Open Crash Dump
  • In the Command area enter:
!analyze –v
  • When the process is finished the result must be copied in a text file.
  • Stop the process with selecting: >Debug >Stop Debugging
  • Then search the errors in the text file and use it to do some searches on the Microsoft Support site

For sample:

  • If a FAILURE_BUCKET is present in the file, there is an issue with the drivers.

P.S. - Please take the backup wherever it's applicable.

Manpreet Singh

Hello Manpreet

The proposals that were provided in this thread did not resolve the issues but unfortunately I can't remember what actually resolved it.

Thanks for your input, though!
