Change the sort mode in the categories list in the "New Document Dialog "

Hi, i'm looking to give a order different from alphabetical at the "category list" in the "new File Dialog" the only way that we did find its to prefix the doctypes customization folders, but this solution get others problems in our business.
Do you know a different or better way to accomplish a non alphabetical sort in the mentioned list?
