I am unable to run the ‘Compare configuration with publishing engine’ tool from the Arbortext Editor > Tools > Administrative Tools menu

I get a big error dump - shown here:

Unexpected exception writing composition configuration comparison
Exception message = 'CompConfig document error: <DoctypeConfiguration> element with no 'path' attribute.'.
java.lang.Exception: CompConfig document error: <DoctypeConfiguration> element with no 'path' attribute.

I am using Arbortext 8.2.1.0 with Java 18.0.2

I have ensure APTCUSTOM path variable is set for both user and system.

I have been unable to find any other help about this.  Is anyone running into this?  Does your comparison tool work?

I’m trying to run this tool because when I publish from within Styler - when testing changes made to the stylesheet - the stylesheet works - I get the output I intended - but when I publishing using the stylesheet on the PE  - which I always re-load and rescan the publishing engine after updating the stylesheet on the PE - the output does not work.    :(

thanks for your help!

I have found that on our PE install we have to have the style sheet saved directly on the PE using the APT option. It never seemed to work if it was on a network share. I also reboot the server to load the new style sheet. Maybe give that a try.
