Document Map Configuration

I've recieved the task of configuring the Document Map appearance in the ArborText Editor.  Our application adds

descriptive text to nodes which can be multiline.  Unfortunately, the Document Map View (tree view) seems to 

flatten the text.  Is it even possible to customize this behavior?

Does anyone know whether the Document Map View is customizable?  I'm getting a lot of pressure from above.
