Mouse scroll not working in AE 6.0

Adepters:

I've installed AE 6.0 patch M030 for some evaluation. One thing I notice is that my center mouse scroll button no longer works. It worked in AE 5.4 and works in every other application I use. It works in any AE sub-window I open (text entity dialog box, advanced preferences, etc.), but not in the main edit window.

Any ideas what I need to do to enable that?

    Adepters:

I asked about this issue in February, but got no responses. We're now getting serious about moving to AE 6.0 and I've reinstalled 6.0 patch M050. But, the center mouse scroll is again disabled. Anyone know of anything that would cause this problem before I open a case with PTC?

Hmmm... Seems to work fine when installed in XP, 32-bit. But, not in W7, 64-bit.

    David,

I had a problem with mouse wheel button functionality in Windows 7. Reconfiguring the wheel button to "middle click" (the default is something else that I can't recall) restored button functionality.

    Jack,

Actually, I'm not having a problem in general with the wheel button in Windows 7. The only problem is in the main edit window for Arbortext Editor 6.0, patch M050. The wheel button functions correctly in every other window, including any scrollable window in AE 6.0 (such as insert text entity dialog box). I've tried both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of AE 6.0, but get the same result.

Is this a problem for anyone else using AE 6.0?

Using AE 6.0 M040 Win 7 32-bit and do not see this problem.

Have you tried it with a File-New-sample doc in AE just to make sure that it is not something peculiar to your doctype?

    Dave,

I'm still (way) back at AE 5.3 M110, so can't provide a confirming instance of mouse-wheel-button functionality in AE6.0.

I opened the demo.xml document for axdocbook and get the same result, so it's not peculiar to our doctype. We do almost no customization (outside of some instance.acl stuff), so I don't get why this would be happening. I originally saw the problem in M030, so it's not related to the patch.

Time to open a PTC call?

    David,

FWIW I'm testing AE 6.0 M050 on a Win 7 box (64 bit) and do NOT see this behavior in either our doctypes or the axdocbook demo.xml.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'm going to install AE 6.0 on another W7 machine and see if I can duplicate the problem. Perhaps there's something affecting only my setup. Either way, I'll probably open a PTC call.

    FYI:

I opened a PTC call concerning this issue, but they had not heard of this problem and hadn't experienced it themselves. Finally, I remembered that I have the advanced preference "useepic43keymappings" set to "on". For yuks, I changed it to "off", restarted AE 6.0, and the mouse scroll wheel started working. I've let them know I found where the bug is and that it should be fixed in 6.0.
