Question

New user - Linking Graphics

Although I am still in the training phase, I have been asked a question regarding our long term intent of linking CAD data graphics.

Question: When a graphic file is updated 1) will it update automatically in the arbortext document itself without asking for confirmation, 2) is there a way to set a notification to someone or a list of members who may need to know that file has been updated?

Thanks in advance,

Tim Cauley

    1) Source documents in Arbortext incorporate graphics by reference, so
they will use whatever version of the graphic exists at any given
time. You will, of course, need to republish your document following
any graphics updates, in order for the published form to incorporate
    the latest.

    2) Notification of updates such as this are generally handled by a
content management system, which can maintain a list of individuals
who have "subscribed" to updates about that graphic, or may even be
able to automatically notify an individual if they've subscribed to
updates about a document that uses the graphic.
