This seems to be more a licensing issue than an association issue.
What License type do you have ? Editor or Editor with Styler?
Are you able to open Arbortext Editor and/or Arbortext Editor with Styler via the Icon on your desktop?
- Go to Windows > Start
- Use the following command line to open the software - please fill with your path to Editor:
- "[EditorInstall]bin\x64\editor.exe" -styler
- Does Editor with Styler open?
- If Editor with Styler opens with no licensing errors - please jump to the next section to change the xml file association
- Or do you get a Licensing error?
- If it is a Licensing error you need to check the following:
- License file is installed correctly
- You have a License for Editor with Styler - please note this is a different license to standalone Editor
- The PTC_D_LICENSE_FILE is pointing to the correct file
- To change the default 'Open with' program:
- Go to Windows > Start
- Execute regedit
- Expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
- Scroll down to xmlfile or sgmlfile
- Expand it
- Expand shell
- Expand open
- Select command
- Right click on item in the right hand pane and select Modify
- Either add or remove the option -styler EG:
- "[InstallPath]bin\x64\editor.exe" -styler "%1"
- Click OK
- Exit regedit
You may need to raise a case with PTC Technical Support if you are unable to resolve with the above suggestions
Kind regards
