Online help system information

Hello everyone, we are looking at creating an online help system. The web output from editor is not really useful so far. Looking for some guidance of what we should be looking for. Also looking for examples of what you have done. We are using the TIA application and the Simonsoft CMS for our content management.

I think to an extent it depends on what you're documenting and for what audience. For software or basic technical documentation ReadTheDocs or Mkdocs might be a good choice (example)? Or Swagger for APIs? or do you mean online help as installed within a software application or system?
