Question

Preview Pending

I have a very interesting problem that I can't seem to get my hands wrapped around and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue.

I'm running Arbortext 6.0 M020 64 bit on a Windows 7 64 bit workstation. Everytime I try to print preview a document, using Print Composer,I receive the [preview pending] message in the bottom right corner but the preview never displays and the computer just locks up.

Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Does your document contain an index? Is the .dvi file written?

Yes. I will check to see if the .dvi file is writing.

Try formatting the doc without the index.

I gottta leave now and will be out most of the day. FWIW: I filed the following a few weeks ago.

PTC C11058559 Arbortext Editor: Formatting never completes when indexing is included, and AE locks up. Task Manager is needed to end it. .dvi and other cache files are written (attached). This also happens with format allpasses at the command line

What happens when you launch pubview.exe and try to open the DVI file? Do you get any interesting error messages or anything?
