Print Composer used with Epic V5.1 with Print Composer vs. 5.3 with Publishing Engine in Arbortext E

I am currently using Epic 5.1 with Print Composer used as my document
composer. I will be forced to upgrade soon due to computer upgrades. I
have a maintenance contract for all of the S/W and licenses that I use. I
don't see Print Composer in the Download area. Does anyone know if I need
to purchase new print composing software to support the change.

    The installer for 5.2 and up includes it as an optional component that
    you can check/uncheck, but it is still ehre.

    I can't speak for higher than 5.3, but print composer is just an installable feature (that is NOT installed by default).
    PTC would rather sell you a server based feature, but as long as we have the license for the client side print composer feature it should still be available.

    Print Composer is a separately-licensed feature of Arbortext Editor. You can install it when installing Editor by selecting the "Custom" installation and selecting Print Composer from the subsequent list.

    I was able to buy a new licence for Print Composer 6.0, but only because I
    already own Print Composer licenses. Otherwise, Publishing Engine is the only
    option.

    My understanding is there are vendors with Publishing Engine who will format
    your documents for you, for a price, if you can't afford PE.

    If you intend to use version 6 you might want to look into getting a concurrent licenses for Editor and Composer. Otherwise, when you try to remotely troubleshoot someone's installation you will find that the fixed licenses do not work as they did on versions below 6. PTC stuck us with the new FlexNet license manager that doesn't care if you have a fixed lincese on your machine and the remote machine. There is no other reason to pay 4 times more for a editor and andother 4x for print composer concurrent licenses that is going to be used only on one machine. Unfortunately PTC doesn't see it this way.

    Again, you can still get licenses of Print Composer for 6.0 and there are
    lots of options for PE. You just have to talk to the right folks.
