Publishing to APE using a path

Good evening, just wondering if anyone is using a path to send the publish jobs to the APE and where I can find out more information about it. I like the idea of publishing to APE without tying up editor. When you go to the APE status screen, at the bottom it has a test APE section. If you click on the pdf test link, it creates a pdf.

Just wondering how to read and understand the path. Can I define stylesheets used. Can I use profiling
