Question

Publishing to the epub format?

Hello,

My department iscurrently using Epic Editor 5.3 M030to edit XML documents, then using Adobe Distiller 6.0 to produce PDF files. We currently have a DTD and XSL that aid in the process.

My question is what would it take to take our current XML documents and output them to the .epub format? Is this even possible?

Thanks,

Jack

    Hi Jack-

I don't know of any OOTB output feature for ePub from Arbortext, but I'm
sure it's possible to develop such a thing. You would need someone who
knows XSLT pretty well to develop the stylesheets to generate the
required components (content, NCX file, OPF file, etc.), and then a
quick ACL script to generate them and assemble the final ePub file.

If your using DITA I believe Bob DuCharme or Elliot Kimber were already
working on (produced) the stylesheets that are required.
