SGML TOs in AF DTD 38784STD-BV9 - Demo .SGM File for a Beer Anyone?

Hi all,

Been awhile since I did SGML, (been XML last few years), but new USAF project is SGML TOs in AF DTD 38784STD-BV9.

I have the dtd and fosi stuff (provided GFE/GFI, but no demo.sgm file was in the batch of files... was hoping someone had a simple/shell/demo sgml file for starters. Anyone?

Else, it's completely starting from scratch (and the old digging for basic start point / end point tags and attributes to simply 'get going.')

Would like to avoid this - gotta build out the whole set of TOs anyway... trade for a beer at a date and location to be named later?

Hopefully someone's got a simple SGML demo file I can start with.

Thanks for all reads/replies.

Regards, Bob W.

Hi Rick,

The closest I can provide are the 38784C DTD, FOSI, and demo SGML file from Arbortext's distributed files many years ago.

BTW: If you are working with FOSI, check out my book Practical FOSI, which is for sale at http://www.FOSIexpert.com/Practical-FOSI.html, and my FOSI QuickStart Tutorials, which are for sale at http://www.FOSIexpert.com/tutorials.html. Note that if you purchase the tutorials, you qualify for a discounted price for the book.

Good luck!

Here is Arbortext's CALS demo document from many years ago. There may be some DTD differences.

Good luck!

Suzanne,

Thanks! I appreciate it - I've frankensteined an AMCOM 38784 .sgm file to get started (just needed to get the initial file structure - headers and basic tags - eastablished so that I could get the Arbortext to open it - it's been almost a decade since I did sgml books - knocking the rust off.)

Now I'm going through that slog getting the initial req'd tags and context issues fixed so that I can use this as a strawman TO SGML book to get moving with tags and boilerplate content.

Thanks all for the help. Looks like I'm up and moving now.

Hello,

I'm looking for DTD and FOSI files for 38784STD-BV9 so I can scope out potential contract work opportunity.  Any help appreciated. Thanks,

Rick
