The bold emphasis tag is being inserted as an underline tag

Has anyone come across the odd behaviour outlined below?

The user is editing in Arbortext Editor 6.0 and also connected to Windchill 10.1. The user is trying to create a new XML file by copying and pasting content. When the user tries to insert a "bold" emphasis tag around content, the result is the content becomes underlined and not bold. The tag itself is an underlined tag. The user can go in and manually change the tag, however, we would like to know what is causing this odd behaviour. This never happened in the previous versions of Arbortext Editor.

Is there a fix for this?

    We have discovered that the issue occurs when there is more than one Arbortext Editor window open. If the user is working with only one AE window open, then the bold tag is created properly. It was just a coincidence that the template was being used to create the new documents.

    The users are continuing to test.

    Hi Kathleen,

    Just wondering if you've had any progress on this. As this behavior hasn't been seen before in OOTB products, I would suggest looking at customizations you currently have running on your system. It sounds like something over-riding the insert_tag function.

    Has anyone else encountered something like this?

    We discovered that this behaviour with the "bold" tag appears to only happen when the user is creating a new xml document using a particular template. Once the user corrects the tag within the document and then saves the xml, the problem is resolved for that file. It happens again when the users creates another new file using the same template.

    You will find the template file in the relevant folder of the "doctypes" subfolder. This will be in your Arbortext "custom" folder either in your Program Files or wherever the APTCUSTOM environment variable is pointing to. You can modify the template to change the tagging as required, then save it. From that point forwards new documents will use the updated template.
