Would installation of PTC Abortext Styler 8.1 be necessary to add video and audio content?

Would installation of PTC Abortext Styler 8.1 be necessary to add video and audio content? For that, it appears as though we would need a separate license other than the PTC Arbortext with Styler 8.1 version license that we have already.

Ok. I see now what you mean. It may seem to work. I just needed to open a file and create a new stylesheet for the Multimedia options to appear...thank you.

Based on your question, it seems you are wanting to use multimedia elements into your topics. I expect you only need styler to add the ability to your stylesheet. Then editor should be able to be used to add the links to the multimedia.

Arbortext Publishing Engine 8.1.0.0

  • New for Styler 8.1.0.0 is the ability to style certain elements as ‘multimedia’
  • Please search the Help Center for Styling and Publishing Video and Audio Content
  • For Web output, make sure to check 'Generate HTML5' option under HTML Chunk tab in Stylesheet properties

I do realize that I need Styler to add video and audio content. When we purchased our PTC Arbortext Editor with Styler license, we got some capabilities, I guess. However, when I looked under the "Help" menu and and select "About PTC Arbortext with Styler" for assistance with adding multimedia content, I see a document which refers to a Multimedia pull-down list. I do not have this Multimedia pull-down list. My questions is do I need to buy another license for PTC Arbortext with Styler 8.1? Apparently, I have a version of Styler included with PTC Arbortext Editor with Styler. I just need to know which version will allow for video and audio content. If I am going to ask for another license, I just need to be sure that it will do the trick.
