Hello,We are on a project and there is a customer requirement about watermarks on printed pdf files. Is it possible to have print outs with watermarks of a pdf document? I have a foldout pageset in 5.4 Stylerthat is currently width="17in" and nomdepth="11in". I need to change it to 25.5in wide, but when I add even 1 inch to the width the text and graphics change their orientation on the page. All I did for testing purposes was add 1in to the rectopg/versopg width and the width of the 1 column flowtexts.

Hi experts,I am trying to run acrolinx while checkout a topic in arbortext editor. Anybody can help me how to configure in arbortext ACL to do that?Regards,Roopesh Navath
A developer's most important tool is without doubt the code editor. When I ditched Linux on the desktop two years ago (the tipping point was when a buggy X driver fried my graphic adapter), and started to enjoy Windows 7, I needed a replacement for Emacs. In my earlier life in Sweden I'd been using Textpad from Helios Software for a decade, but this product seemed to have reached "maintenance mode" (esp. regarding handling of Unicode). So I spent several days searching a commercial code editor suitable for ACL. Finally i decided to buy Zeus (http://zeusedit.com).Don't let the somewhat unprofessionally crafted website fool you. Or the slightly old-fashioned looks of the GUI. This is an extremely powerful, mature and stable product. It doesn't aim to be an all-purpose texteditor (like UltraEdit). The target audience is programmers.I'm attaching a "keyword information file" defining the "document type" ACL (see http://www.zeusedit.com/zforum/viewtopic.php?t=176). It defines not only highli
Hi, I may need to import some docs that are written with MS Word to Arbortext Editor in a short future. The Arbortext Editor we use is a customized version based on Arbortext Editor 5.3. There's no import/export function with the editor. Instead, there's Import Text File function.I have tried to save one doc as .txt and then use the Import Text File function but that didn't give me much help. It feels like a copy-paste function.Could you guys give me suggestions about how to make the conversion more efficient or perform an automatic conversion if possible? Thanks very much!
hello ,I use Arbortext EPIC 5.4.When I opened the client EPIC 5;4, texts are scratched. Can you help me please!!
I have developed an Import Map Template (MS Word to XML) which does not pick up any lists within tables from the source document. All other lists are correctly recognized. To remedy this issue, I set the "include lists" option in "initial preprocessing options" to true. This resulted in lists within tables being correctly recognized by the Map Template Editor, however when using the Map Template to import the Word file into Arbortext Editor, all lists now restart after every list item. For example, where you would normally have 10 listitems within an bulleted list, there are now 10 bulleted lists with one listitem each. This error occurs in all lists. I've included screengrabs of how it looks in the source file pane, and then the results in Arbortext Editor. So in summary: For the Map Template to pick up lists within tables, I enabled "include lists". However, now all lists refuse to have more than one listitem.Any advice on how to how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!
Does anyone know how to generate this file? There is a link on I think it is the PE Index page that generates a WDSLfor other services, but not PE. That URL is:

Hi,I am issuing the following command:tag_display -local -iconFrom both the command line and from within an ACL looping over content andchoosing specific oids. The element is collapsed and represented by the barbell icon 100% of thetime when I issue this command from the command line with my cursor in thetag. When issued from the ACL, the command works as expected unless the tag inquestion has child elements. For example:<para>Blah blah blah.</para>Is always iconized.<para>Blah blah blah BLAH.</para>Is only iconized from the command line. It is NOT iconized from the ACL.Anyone seen this behavior before? Is it "as designed" or is it a bug ofsome sort do ya think?-- Paul Nagai
PTC to discontinue #Arbortext to Documentum/WDK adapter after 6.1.
I'm trying to compose using an XSL stylesheet from the command line but can't seem to get the proper syntax. Any help would be appreciated. I'm on version Arbortext 6x and I believe some of the ACL packages have changed.Sarah

Hello adepters,We are automating some Arbortext Editor 5.4 installations for our writers, and are looking for a way to have the Arbortext license key added without user interaction (we have one corporate key for all users). Is there a command line interface for the licadmin.exe tool?Or, can we use the same 6000.lic file on all machines? This file looks to be the same on different machines with the exception of the last three lines, and we're not sure what data those lines contain.Or, can a deployment kit handle the license? From what I've read, I think deployment kits just streamline the software install, and still require the separate licadmin.exe tool, but I'm not positive.thanks!Melanie Petersman
I'm posting this because I hope it helps someone. I was having a lot of trouble with hyphenation breaking before a period<title><xref/></title>So it lookedlike this:2.1 YADA/Yada-yada (YADA) Yada/Yada. (Figure 2).Not cool. The first period is from the xref's beforetext, the space after the first period is from the xref's aftertext and the last period is from the title's aftertext.I played with hyphrule, keeps, wordsp, quadding, hyphenad nauseum. but this is the only thing that worked: moving the period and space to the xref's beforetext, and hitting the space bar after the period like so:<savetext textid="beforetext" conrule="\." \,.9em&quot;=" placemnt="before"/">This didn't work: <savetext textid="beforetext" conrule="\.\,1em" placemnt="before"/"> and putting \. \ in the aftertext didn't work, either.
Dear all,I have 2 questiones, (1) when I creat a new topic (the default DITA topic), the table attribute is as the following:I want change the table attribute, when I add a table element, the defaut table attribute is 3pt.Can I realize it? Using Arbortext Architect? How?(2) I want define a new element, using different font, size, or color. Can I realize it? Using Arbortext Architect? How? Can you show a simple example, or a guide link? thanks!I think maybe it's a simple and basic questions because we didn't use Architect before, and interested in it. Your assistance will be highly appreciated in this regard. Thanking youLorin
I can center text using the HTML and XHTML doctypes by editing the attributes but can't seem to do this in SGML or XML based docs like DocBook or any of our custom DTDs. It appears that it is disabled somehow but I don't know where to enable this? I also tried to solve this by clicking on Format --> Touchup --> Custom Touchup --> Horizontal tab --> Justification = centerDoes the solution involve the Styler? DTD? FOSI?Please help, thanks!
We recently upgraded from Epic 5.4 to Epic 6.0.. The graphics show up in the XML file, but do not show in the composed PDF. Is there a setting I am overlooking? I went back and looked at all of the settings in 5.4 just to check, but everything in 6.0 seemed to be pointing to the right directories. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
