Since the beginning of Mathcad Prime, PTC has snubbed loyal users by providing a subprime legacy file converter.  It can take hours of work to tweak a converted file to get it to match the original, and you need to have a working installation of Mathcad 15 to ensure that the converted file works as intended.  When are we going to get the proper file converter that we deserve?

Hi,

I do understand the frustrations with converting worksheets that end up requiring tweaks in Mathcad Prime - this isn’t because we’re ignoring the needs of the conversion process. Mathcad 15 worksheets and Mathcad Prime worksheets are very different formats, and the region structures (and content, in some cases) used in Mathcad Prime are different sizes. Depending on region placement and density in the worksheet, this means converted worksheets could end up having more pages, with regions pushed to different lines - though region, and thus calculation, order is always maintained. There’ isn’t an easy solution, but it is something we continue to take feedback on and discuss in regard fixes that could help. If you have specific examples of very badly converted worksheets, please do reach out and I will provide them to our R&D and QA teams as examples of what we need to work on.

Many thanks,

Andy.
