Is there a way to automatically have the ‘Send Email Notification’ checkbox selected by default when creating Ad-Hoc Activities in Windchill? 

  Hi everyone, I’m working with a ThingWorx FileRepository where each subfolder contains only 3–4 images (like step images in an Experience).Whenever I add or delete images, I want to re-sort and rename all files sequentially — e.g.,     1.png 2.png 3.png 4.png     so the order always stays clean and consistent.   Question: Given that each folder has only a few files (3–4 images), should I: Keep this simple in-ThingWorx loop (since performance impact is negligible), or Use a REST API batch rename approach for better scalability? Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case: Differentiate between mail notifications coming from each environment so that users don't get confusedDescription: Emails sent by Windchill are not very reliable in terms of, from which environments are coming. Sometimes I see the email of the test server server-test@company.com, sometimes I just receive an email where the FROM(on the email) matches the user's email (the user to whom the email is sent). How can I reliably differentiate all emails coming from the test from the ones coming from the production, since the username does not change, but the URL of the environment changes from env to env, it would be convenient to trace that information somewhere and not rely on the user email. Thanks in advance, 

I want to fit my experimental statistical data, which looks very close to a Gaussian distribution, by a perfect Gaussian distribution. I'd like the amplitude, mean/center, width/signa, and background/vertical_offset to all be adjusted for best fit. I know that this can be accomplished using the genfit function; but I suppose others have already done this so that I don't need to reinvent the wheel. I'm running Prime 9.0.0.0.

Creo is managed by our company with some standard settings. Every time we open Creo the config.pro and the mapkeys in the run directory are overwritten with our companies default settings. I have added in my user level config.pro and system colors, but am having trouble doing the same with the mapkeys. I followed the instruction in the support documentation, but when I click find in the config.pro and search for "load_mapkeys_run_dir" it doesn't exist so I cannot change the setting to pull from the designated location outside of the run directory.

I'm having trouble calculating the velocity of the droplets with an initial velocity of 1. when implementing with rkfixed the vd0 says 'unknown error-ODEtoofewinit'Any help would be appreciated if theres a better way to solve? thanks (g=gas, d=droplet)  

I want to create a toolkit application that can integrate PowerPoint into Creo. Basically, I would like my application to generate a PowerPoint with information about the assembly and part views and parameter information. Is there any library that could do this integration?

Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: When installing Windchill 13.0.2.3 on RHEL 9.6 how do you get it to run as a service?Description: I have Windchill 13.0.2.3 running on RHEL 9.6 quite successfully as a monolithic server (SQL, Application, HTTP server and SOLR al on one VM) for testing purposes. I can make everything run as foreground application using the commands in this article: https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS49725 I've succeeded in getting Apache to run as a service using systemd unit files, but I cannot get either SOLR or Windchill to start. I've written a script for Windchill that opens a Windchill shell and then enters the command 'Windchill start'. When I run that from a command line the method servers start correctly in xterm, but when I use a unit file to run from systemd then it fails to start, even when I run it as the same user, or as root.  Would anyone share the startup script and unit file that they have used to get SOLR & Windchill

Hello All,   I have an API gateway, which also acts as an OIDC IdP. There's a Windchill instance which is configured to serve APIs to that gateway with SSO. There's an external app, which uses that setup, and it works fine.   I'd like to investigate an idea of connecting Navigate through the same API gateway, and not directly to Windchill. I expect to do some configuration on the ThingWorx side, but zero changes on the Windchill end, because other API gateway app(s) already work, so I assume that there's nothing to change.   Before I spend time on trying to set it up, just wanted to check with the community -- is it a supported setup, and what kind of issues should I expect?   Also, this might be a very lame question, but what do I need to configure on the ThingWorx side to make an external OIDC IdP work in this scenario?   Thanks, Constantine

Hello dear ptc community,as you can See in the first picture, I created a bolt and now want to make a thread using the helical sweep tool. Although when I select 'remove Material' it removes everything except for the thread (2nd pic) instead of it carving out the thread so I'm left with a spring-like shape. Am I using the tool wrong or is this a bug? Note that I am fairly new to Creo and CAD in general. Thank you in advance 🙂 here you see the base of the bolt   

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 13.0 and Datecode with CPS 13.0.2.1We are about to upgrade from Creo 11.0.2.0 to Creo 12.4.2 and need to re-configure our Windchill visualisation to use the new version of Creo.I have tried to find out how to do this using the help system and knowledge base, but have been unable to work out how to do it.Please provide step by step instructions to change Creo version used by Windchill Visualisation.

We have a requirement to connect ThingWorx with Windchill using the OData Connector configured with Fixed Authentication. However, Basic Authentication is disabled on the Windchill server.When I configure Fixed Authentication using the Windchill org admin account, I get the following results:ValidateConnection: 200 (Success)RefreshEndpointCache: SuccessGetEndpointList: returns an empty array [] (no endpoints)Could someone please advise how we can populate or retrieve the endpoint list for this Fixed Authentication setup on this server? Thanks in advance,VV

Version: Windchill 13.0   Use Case: Autoassociate preference is turned on and a custom class that extends DefaultAutoAssociatePartFinderCreator implements AutoAssociatePartFinderCreator runs to select the correct subtype based on Product context. Autoassociate created WTParts don't have the particular subtype defaults. Description: I customized the AutoAssociatePartFinderCreator class to look at the product context a CAD document is being checked into and based on the context selects the appropriate subtype of WTPart to auto associate.  This works as expected and the correct WTPart subtype is associated on check in based on context name.    However, the subtype defaults and cascading attribution I set up for that particular subtype doesn't carry over. Instead, it looks as though the WTPart subtype is created based on the default parent WTPart.    When I create a new part in the context, it follows the WTPart subtype attributes and defaults I set up. 

Mathcad Enhancement Proposal (MEP):  Extend the Document Spacing functionality to minimise the vertical or horizontal spacing between regions   The "Separate Regions" functionality is a useful tool for organising a Mathcad worksheet.  However, quite often I find myself "wasting" time doing the opposite - removing spacing between regions.    The usual scenario is that I write partial functions and/or evaluate them as I develop the final form of a function or set of functions.   When I've got the function in its final form, I delete the regions that are no longer required, which leaves me with the task of closing up the gaps their deletion leaves.  This is the kind of mindless activity best left to automation.   An additional button in the Document Spacing group to minimise region spacing, either horizontally or vertically, would be a useful asset to aid in this and other use cases.   Additional MEP:   MEP - Auto-increment spacing b

The edges of this part change color between views: they are BLACK in the "Shading With Edges" view and become BLUE in the  "No Hidden" view. The edges are also BLUE in the Hidden Line view (with the hidden line correctly displayed as light grey), and completely blue in the Wireframe view. Hello everyone, I’d like to open up a discussion around the announcement that PTC is selling its industrial connectivity and IoT businesses — namely ThingWorx and Kepware — to TPG.   Thingworx sold    As someone working in industrial connectivity, IoT and manufacturing systems (and many of you probably are as well), this raises a number of questions and potential implications. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Below are some of the issues I believe we should consider:  Potential positives The transaction is being promoted as a growth enabler: PTC says this move will allow the ThingWorx and Kepware businesses to “gain additional resources for growth” under TPG. PTC For users of ThingWorx this could mean heavier investment, new features, better connectivity, or stronger backing — depending on how TPG steers the business. The shift might allow PTC to focus more on its core “Intelligent Product Lifecycle” vision (CAD, PLM, ALM, SLM) — which could mean clearer strat
