Question

closing pro_comm_msg.exe

Hi all,

I have been working on J/Link. I am facing with a typical problem while
closing PRO/E.

When I open Pro/E through J/link with having graphics mode, then exiting
the PRO/E application through J/Link also ends pro_comm_msg.exe process.
But, if I do the same with out having graphics mode, pro_comm_msg.exe
process is not being closed.

Can anyone help me out in this regard?

With regards,

V.Amar

    V.Amar,

I am pretty sure that this is normal behavior and pro_comm_msg.exe will
stop eventually. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Is it causing
    problems?

pro_comm_msg has a default timeout which I believe to be 300 seconds.
When you start it, you can specify another timeout. I don't remember the
syntax to specify the timeout. I believe you can do it on the command
line or with an environment variable.

    Hello Patrick,

    Thanks for your response.

If I run a j/link application with out graphic mode for many a time,
some times I am getting connection start error, like XToolKitBusy. To
get rid of this, either I will log off my system or restart my pc. Other
way around I do is, in TaskManager (of WIDOWS_XP OS), I will end the
    pro_comm_msg.exe process.

    Regards,
