Creating spring with a return thru middle

Hello   I need to create the  auger that i have attached.  I can do the spiral and the straight piece going down the center of the spiral. But connecting the two is a problem If anyone can help that would bee great  I am using Creo3.0

    Try a datum curve through points; you should be able to make the ends tangent to the helical curve and the straight line curve.
