Hi all,

Can anyone suggest the best practice in data translation from Catia v4
to proe.

    Hi Everyone,
    I translated files from Catia v4 to Proe and the translations are igs and
    stp files. Stp files worked the best to translate from catia to proe. There
    is a built in translation from catia .ct file directly to pro/engineer But,
    I found stp files to work the best for that type of translation. But, The
    proe file is an imported file with no features. There is currently no
    feature recognizer program to recognize files translated from another Cad
    system. Even Solidworks feature recognizer is not 100% accurate in
    translating proe files into solidworks.

    Actually, there is a software application that translates models, with features, from CATIA V4 to Pro/E. Proficiency Inc. ( http://www.proficiency.com <http: www.proficiency.com="/> ) makes an application called the Collaboration Gateway. It translates models, with features, between Pro/E, CATIA V4, CATIA V5, I-deas, and UGNX.
