I got it to work a little easier than the link you provided. Create your note putting a dummy character in place of your ≥ and have it on its own line. Finish the note, then select the note, and query select the dummy character and edit style. Change the font to one of the windows truetype fonts (not CG TT) (Times New Roman looks pretty close). Edit the note and replace just the dummy character within the brackets with the alt242 for ≥ and alt243 for ≤. These codes and many more can be found here

    You can also change to the SYMBOL font using this same method and use the character map. Thanks Robert for the heads up.
