Has anyone got gPlugs working?

The lo down is here.

It seems like a useful plug-in system which I had overlooked until now - possibly because I haven't needed to import any of the file formats mentioned. Still, it's quite interesting. Has anyone got them working? I followed the steps but, well, nothing happened.
