Is it possible to make some points at 3D coord. by imported the coordinates data such as text or csv file? The Creo/Element Direct is our CAD .

Thanks in advance for your advise.

Best,

Masa

I'm not familiar with Creo/Direct, but I know in Creo/Parametric you can import a point list through the Datum Point>Offset Coordinate System command. Creo only accepts .pts & .ibl file extensions, though.

Try removing any header information and save your data set as space delimited (.prn in excel). You can then change the .prn file extension to .pts and import this into Creo.

Take a look at this thread:

    Andrew,

    Thanks for your information.

Yes. We also know Creo/Parametric is able to import a point list but Creo/Element cannot unfortunatelly...Therefore, we will follow the informaiton and hope to work the procedure at Element, too.

In addtion, we heard that a macro program is necessary to do this so that we are looking for the macro information now, anyhow.

    Thanks again!
