Hi all, What is the practical significance of modal analyis of a completly unconstrained body? Regards, Shankar

    An unconstrained rigid modal analysis would be significat for a structure or body that is not grounded to anything. An example would be a complete unconstrained modal analysis on an airplane structure. In the air the entire body of the structure would be unconstrained. Most of your analyses will be constrained modal analysis (with or without rigid mode search). Hope this helps. Steve
