Terry, I think you have hit on the biggest risk with using this functionality. If you want to make your drawing notes parametric (and who doesn't?), then you will have trouble, because (at least in WF2) the hidden instances are counted in the total number of instances. Thus, for a pattern of 10 holes, 3 of which are hidden,the note "&p31 holes" will show as 10 holes, even though the 3 that are hidden should not be included. It's nearly very good indeed... John
It does on build M280; I just redefined a pattern to omit two instances, and when I regenerated the next level assembly, the inserts that were reference patterned to it vanished. The number of instances in the note also updated to reflect the omitted instances.
Very strange, though - why would it work correctly in WF 2 and not in WF 4? Did they break it on an update, or add a config option and made the default counter to what most people would want? Not like we haven't seen that before...
Terry - did you do a regen before checking the note? Perhaps it didn't update the number of instances because it hadn't recalculated everything?
