Friends,

How do I force the GDP algorithm. The default SQP is not helping me.

Thanks,

    Dear Randy,

Create a mecbatch file and edit it and put '-gdp' at the end of the
command line to force the use of the GDP algroithm. PTC, in their wisdom,
decided to remove the option from the GUI.

    Hey PTC are you listening?

Put the Option back to choose the optimization routine used. I have had the optimizer not help in training classes where if GDP was used, there would have been a clear "better" solution. In the past 2 years, I have had the same thing happen in real life work: "no improvement to initial design was found (regardless of where I start it)" while a better solution is listed in the summary file above this message! WHY DID YOU DO IT? You know that SQP will not necessarily give you a better solution - it's in your documentation.

Please give it back to us. The decision to take away our option to choose the method was not a good one! Now I have to set up a batch program to get this "old and solid" functionality back.

Thanks David Reid and Rod Giles for the fast response.
