I moved sheet 4 between sheets 1 & 2.
I expected them to all renumber.

It says it's sheet 2, but on the tab it still says Sheet 4.

What's up with that?

Without being one of the line programmers, as I understand it, the name on the tab is just a name. Kind of like in Excel, when you work with vba, the same tab would be referenced Sheets("Sheet4") or Sheets(2) (i.e. it's the index number).

PTC says that's intended functionality. They inteded it to work like Excel.

Thing is, I can see nameing tabs in Excel. I have never ever had a desire to name a sheet on a drawing. It's just confusing to have the tab named wrong once you've moved it.

I suppose I could just rename the sheets per what's detailed on that sheet. But that just seems like extra work.

Call me a ludite if you like.

I'm with you. When I first saw the new tab system I got pretty excited. Then I moved a tab and my excitement faded...it seemed like a missed opportunity considering how we actually use the sheet numbers.

Yea don't you love it. And that makes excellent sense because the functionality of CAD software is SO MUCH LIKE a spread sheet. SMH

    I read this one as

...Then I moved a tab and excrement...

No really, I did and it is. PTC was soooo close to a good thing, but it turned out just plain wrong.

Typical PTC half-baked implementation of a great enhancement.

It would have been nice to be able to name the sheet:
    &sheet_number <mysheetname>

There are two Creo parametric Product Ideas in the PTC Community page that are relevant to this:

    a. Pass Sheet Number of Drawing View back to Model of Same Name

    b. Drawing Table Parameters to create a Table-of-Contents for multi-sheet drawings

There are a total 15 votes for both combined.

What would have also been helpful was to have 'non-printing' pages as sheets in the drawing file. Say like a first page that had information useful to the designer/drafter, or the revision history, etc... Oh, well.
