Simplified Reps - Description

I have a user that wants to open a large model using a simplified rep
(nothing in the rep will be in session) while showing some parameter
information in the model tree. I am thinking the only way possible is to
have them create a rep and include all the components as symbolic reps. Can
anyone confirm or dispute this?

Thanks,

Something I learned from Ted Bradshaw a couple of years ago is to create
an Empty simplified rep. in each of your templates so that at any time you
want to look at just the associated information you could without having
to regenerate the entire component or assembly.

Hope that helps, for the future,

P.S. I think there is a way to create that empty rep on the fly but have
not attempted that, so I am not certain of how to do it.

Ronnie, thanks, I doubt I will ever use this, but there are inquiring
    minds out there.

Hopefully this will help Stephen along.

I have added a simplified rep called SKELETONS to our template assembly.
This is a rules driven simplified rep, that only retrieves skeletons. A
great rep to use, when you want a change in an upper level assembly to
ripple down the structure to all skeletons in subassemblies.
Regenerate and save the simplified rep.
Each sub-assembly can now be retrieved and regenerated to make the change
go all the way to the parts. This can be done by the engineers working on
those assemblies only, making resolves much easier.
