Question

What is the "designate" column for in the "Parameter" window?

What happens if designate is checked or unchecked?

I'm relatively new to Pro/E and this forum, but a long time CAD (CADDS 5, IDEAS, Mechanical Desktop, Solidworks) user. Thanks!

    Kevin,

I can't speak for other Product Data Management (PDM) systems other than
Pro/INTRALINK, but if the Pro/E Designate box is checked, then the
parameter is passed to the corresponding (same name) Pro/I Attribute.
It then can be used inside of Pro/I to be included in table display's,
Sorting, searching (Locate in Pro/I), and so forth.
