Automation of section arrows generation

Hi All,

I have a doubt on drawing(i.e) if the section arrows are missing in the parent drawing view. Is there any option to find it automatically, like modelCHECK.?

Hello Vinod

I do not know much about modelcheck but the section arrows are optional in later versions of WF and Creo. You can check to see if the arrows exist by looking at the view properties of the child view.

Dear Antonius,

infact my requirement is to automate the tool.

if there are sections in the drawing and if we forget to keep the section arrows, it should intimate the placement of section arrows in the parent view.

is there any option like that using model check or anything.

Well you're sort-of in luck then,

I know of no way of doing it within ModelCHECK, I've been trying to find something similar.

I also can't find any other automatic way 😞

A way of doing it is to create a temporary (i.e. delete it when you have finished) Drawing Simplified Rep,

Tools > Drawing Representation > Create > Delete the standard Display all views command > add 1st command Erase All Views, 2nd comand Show Views of Type > X-Section.

You now have a drawing with only section views showing.

Select Insert > Arrows and click on each view that you can see, if there are arrows associated it says "No more arrows can be added for this view" if you do not get that message then there aren’t arrows!

Middle button if you don’t want them adding, or add them.

It is a bit of a lot of a work around but simplifies things a little (depending on how many cross section views you have, it might not help atall).

Doesn’t work in Creo2 though the arrow functionality’s a bit different.
