Creo Version: 11.0.6.0

Description

When opening a STEP file containing 5,000 unique cube solid bodies, Creo takes an unusually long time to process the file. The import never completes successfully, and Creo eventually becomes unresponsive and crashes.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Launch Creo Parametric 11.0.6.0.
  2. Open a STEP file containing 5,000 unique cube solids.
  3. Wait for the import process.

Expected Result

The STEP file should open successfully without crashing.

Actual Result

Creo remains in the loading/import process for a long time, becomes unresponsive, and eventually crashes.

This file opens without error in Creo 7.0.12.0. I opened the step file (did not use a start template) and used the assembly option so that the accuracy is matched. Try opening the file using an earlier release if possible. If not, then open a case with tech support. Enclosed is a Creo neutral file which should open in Creo 11 if that resolves your immediate problem.
